FSA is part of the Federal Individual Development Account (IDA) program funded by Assets for Independence.  Pennsylvania partnered for 50% of the funding and joined the national IDA program through PA Act 23 of 1997.  Pennsylvania's IDA program was named the "Family Savings Account" program.  
 
Funds are distributed to non-profit organizations through the PA Department of Community & Economic Development.  www.newpa.com 

Save $2000. . . & receive a $2000 Match 


To Qualify:
  1. .  Be a PA resident
  2. .  Meet the income guidelines (chart below)
  3. .  Locate your FSA non-profit agency - click here>>  FSA Agencies
  4. .  Fill out your local agency's application.
  5. .  Pick one of five spending goals.
    • Home purchase
    • Home Repairs or improvements
    • Car (for school or work commute)
    • Education for yourself of child  (& optional discounts to the PA 529 plan)
    • Improve or Start a new Business

To Succeed:

  1. .  Deposit at least $40 a month into your FSA saving account.
  2. .  Complete Expense Tracking, a Budget, and attend FREE financial education.
